4 cool features that makes Tesla Model 3 an exceptional EV
The first unit of the Model 3 vehicle recently made its first appearance off the production line and will belong to Tesla’s CEO, Elon Musk. 30 customers are expected to receive their vehicles on July 28th 2017 while production grows and is expected to reach 20,000 cars per month in December. Here are 4 cool features that makes Tesla Model 3 an exceptional EV:
1. Lots of space inside
Tesla Model 3 can comfortably accommodate 5 persons due to its design strategy. As an electric car, there's no massive combustion engine in the front of the car thus Tesla's instrument panel is compressed and the front seats are slightly moved forward to create more space in the back seats. The Model 3 EV also features a front and rear trunk.
2. Fast charging and longer battery life
The Model 3 Tesla EV has standard high-speed charging capabilities and can drive at least 215 miles on a single charge. Tesla is expanding on its charging stations and hope to build lots more by 2018.
3. One display interface for everything
When you look beyond the steering wheel from the driver's seat, you won’t find any gauges or displays at the windshield. Look to your right and you'll be surprised. Unlike your conventional cars, the Tesla Model 3 features a 15-inch touchscreen display interface which shows you the traditional gauges such as speedometer, fuel gauge, etc. All controllable features for the vehicle such as speed, navigation, etc. are managed on the dashboard.
4. Exceptional speed
In the release video, Elon Musk said “At Tesla, we don’t make slow cars.” The base model 3 can attain a significant speed of 0 to 60 in less than 6 seconds. This is remarkable for EV and faster Model 3 vehicles are coming in the future.

What to expect soon: Self-driving capabilities/autopilot
The Tesla Model 3 EV comes with standard Autopilot hardware which includes eight cameras, a radar unit, a set of all-around-the-car ultrasonic sensors, and an Nvidia Drive PX2 computer. The software for the self driving functionality has not yet been released. As the reservation for the Model 3 continues, Tesla is charging additional $3,000 for the option notably named Self-Driving Capabilities.
Tesla vehicles regularly receive over-the-air software updates to add new features or functions. The 15-inch touchscreen display gives users notification of available updates which can be downloaded and installed whenever the system is connected to a wifi network.
